Terms of Use
Effective 25 October 2026
The short version. Ride safely and follow the rules of the road. RideON's navigation, alerts and radar help, but they can be wrong or late, so keep your eyes on the road and use your own judgement. The app is provided as it is.
Agreement
These terms apply to the RideON app and the website rideon.cc ("RideON", "we", "us"). By downloading or using RideON you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app. If you got RideON from the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply, including Apple's standard licence agreement for apps; where they conflict with these terms on store matters, the store's terms win.
Riding safely
- You're responsible for your safety. Pay attention to the road, traffic and conditions at all times. Don't look at or operate your phone in a way that distracts you while riding. Stop somewhere safe to change settings.
- Obey the law. Follow traffic laws and any local rules about using phones and mounting devices on bikes.
- Navigation can be wrong. Routes, turn instructions, climb information and off-course alerts come from GPS, map data and route files that may be out of date or inaccurate. A planned route may use roads or paths that are closed, unsafe, private or unsuitable for your bike. Always check what's in front of you.
- Radar is an aid, not a lookout. Rear radar alerts depend on a third-party device and a Bluetooth connection, and may miss vehicles or arrive late. Keep checking behind you.
- Fitness numbers are estimates. Heart rate, power, zones and calories are for training only and aren't medical advice. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise programme.
- Mount your phone securely and protect it from water and impacts. We're not responsible for damage to your phone or other equipment.
Your licence to use RideON
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use RideON on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, sell, or reverse engineer the app except as the law allows, or use it to break the law or harm others.
Your data and files
Your rides, routes and settings belong to you and stay on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for backing them up; we can't recover data lost from your phone. When you import route files, make sure you have the right to use them.
Third-party services and devices
RideON works with services and devices we don't control, including OpenStreetMap and OpenFreeMap map data, Open-Meteo weather, the BRouter route planner, your phone's speech recognition, Bluetooth sensors and radars, and services you export files to such as Strava and Garmin Connect. They may change, limit or stop at any time, and their own terms apply. We're not responsible for their accuracy or availability.
Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Weather data by Open-Meteo.com, under CC BY 4.0. Garmin, Varia, Strava, Komoot, Ride with GPS and other names are trademarks of their owners. RideON isn't affiliated with or endorsed by them.
Changes and availability
We may update, change or stop offering RideON or any feature. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use RideON after a change means you accept the new terms.
No warranty
RideON is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted operation, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for injury, accident, property damage, or lost data arising from your use of RideON, including reliance on its navigation, alerts, radar or fitness information. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence where that rule applies, and nothing here affects your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.
Ending use
You can stop using RideON at any time by deleting the app. We may end your licence if you break these terms.
